American Herding Dog of 2010

 


ALL DOGS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE ANNUAL COMPETITION BEFORE 1 NOVEMBER 2010. The Competition closes on 5 January the following year. Wins from any month will be accepted before closing date of the competition.

ENTRY FEES


The Annual Entry Fee- Free for 2010. Entrants must agree to the Terms and Conditions of entry before being accepted into the competition.

REGISTRATION


Each entrant must register online providing a photo of the dog (must be jpg attachment) to be included in the competition, and provide the following details-
•         Breed
•         Sex
•         Dogs name and title

•         Dog AKC Registration Number (or equivalent)        
•         Dogs date of birth
•         Owners Name
•         Owners address (must include country and state)
•         Owners Phone Number
•         Owners Email address
•         Sire and Dam of the Dog

•         Division where the dog is mainly trialed and resides

The entrant provides surety to Showdogs (our Business) that they own the entrant. If the entrant is jointly owned, the entrant provides surety to Showdogs that they have the authority/agreement with the co-owner/s to enter the dog in this competition.

 

ELIGIBILITY

1.       To be eligible for the American Herding Dog Competition, all dogs must be registered with the American Kennel Club and reside in and be trialled in America during the time period. Only breeds as per AKC Herding rules are eligible to compete for American Herding dog of the year, as per AKC Herding rules.

2.       The time period for American Herding Dog of 2010 means between 1/1/2010 and 31/12/2010. Final submissions for American Herding Dog of 2010 close on 15 January the following year.

3.       The American Herding Dog of 2010 competition is for the whole of the USA. If enough entries are received, it will also be divided into 13 Divisions (as per the American Kennel Club Schedule- see attached).

4.       In that case, a dog shall be deemed to be entered under the Division for which they have submitted the most awards (not the most points).

5.       All Competitors compete for The American Herding Dog of 2010. The dog with the highest overall points wins the American Herding Dog of 2010 award. In the case of a draw, the dog with the highest number of High in Trial awards will win. If outright winners are still not achieved, the most High In Trial and Reserve High in Trial Awards, then most High in Trial, Reserve High in Trial, 1st Places with 20 or more dogs, and down the table until a winner can be declared.


POINTS

1.       For the American Herding Dog of 2010, points will apply only for AKC approved American Herding Tests and Trials and American Sanctioned Herding Tests and Trials held between 1/1/2010 and 31/12/2010.

2.       Entrants can submit all awards gained at each trial. That includes a Qualifying Score or place on each type of Stock (e.g. Sheep, Ducks, Cattle)  A dog that is entered in 3 types of Stock can submit 3 awards or a dog entered in 2 types of stock can submit 2 awards and so on. You can submit High-in-trial and Reserve for each kind of stock.

3.       Regarding livestock- Ducks can also mean geese or turkeys, and Sheep can also mean goats if these were used.

American Herding Dog of the Year entrants can claim additional points when their dog gains a title during the time period. Proof via a copy of the certificate (including date) must be received by closing date to be included in the 2010 Competition. The issue date of the certificate is used as the date of achievement. These points will be added manually. Therefore, please email evidence of this to

LEADERBOARDS


The leaderboard for the American Herding Dog of 2010 will be published as wins are submitted.

Any discrepancies/disputed wins will be checked with the entrant, and entrants may be required to provide proof of their win via notification from the Secretary of the Show. If proof is not provided and/or the dispute resolved by the close of the month, the win shall not be counted. No correspondence shall be entered into.
